Spreading the message through art

Jacha was inspired to create a African Grey Parrot sculpture after reading an article on the African Geographic website about how the birds are trapped and traded as pets. The sculpture along with the article went on display at Platform Galeri as a means of making people aware of the sad story behind a parrot for sale in a pet shop.

Once he had created the parrot sculpture, Jacha got in touch with Africa Geographic to tell them how much their article had inspired him.
