Educating children on conservation through art.
In September 2015 Orangutan Appeal UK were invited by the Malaysian branch of Jane Goodall’s Roots and Shoots movement to promote Orangutans for their Wild About Art project. as ambassador for the charity Jacha was asked to represent OAUK for the project.
Jacha and his assistant Kate spent a week visiting schools in Kuala Lumpur talking to the students about orangutans and the fight they face for survival. After each presentation Jacha then held an art workshop with the students, he helped them create sculptures of orangutans using recycled waste that they had collected. The children were able to create some amazing sculptures using items that would normally have just been thrown away and ended up in landfill.
In April 2016 all the artwork was put on display in the Times Square Shopping Mall in Kuala Lumpur.
