Remembering Wildlife: A Celebration of Giraffe Art

Art has the power to inspire, connect, and create meaningful change and our recent journey with Remembering Wildlife is a powerful reflection of that belief.

Last month marked an important milestone for us at Jacha. We were honoured to be selected to take part in the Remembering Wildlife Giraffes campaign an internationally recognised initiative that brings together artists from around the world to raise awareness and funds for endangered species.

This special Kickstarter campaign, which concluded on March 27th, celebrated not only the beauty of giraffes but also highlighted the urgent need to protect them. Being chosen to contribute to such a meaningful project was both a privilege and a responsibility one we embraced wholeheartedly.

A Global Collaboration Through Art

The Giraffes campaign brought together a diverse group of artists, each offering their own unique interpretation of one of the world’s most iconic animals. From bold contemporary styles to detailed realism, the collection reflected a shared purpose: to tell the story of giraffes in a way that resonates deeply with people across the globe.

For Jacha Art, this collaboration represented more than participation it was an opportunity to stand alongside a community of creatives who believe in using art as a force for good. Working alongside both established and emerging artists, including several first-time collaborators, added a fresh and inspiring dimension to the project.

A Featured Piece: “Lobo”

At the heart of our contribution is “Lobo”, a striking oil-on-canvas painting by Jacha Potgieter.

Inspired by giraffes observed in Tanzania’s Lobo Valley, this piece captures a quiet, almost contemplative moment in the wild. There is a sense of stillness and presence within the composition an invitation for the viewer to pause and truly connect with the subject.

Measuring 100cm in height, 70cm in length, and 2cm in depth, Lobo was created as a statement piece one that goes beyond decoration. It is designed to evoke emotion, spark curiosity, and encourage reflection on the relationship between humans and wildlife.

Through careful attention to texture, tone, and expression, the painting brings the giraffe to life in a way that feels both intimate and powerful.

Art with a Purpose

At its core, this campaign is about more than art it is about conservation.

Remembering Wildlife has built a global reputation for producing impactful projects that combine visual storytelling with real-world action. Each campaign supports conservation efforts on the ground, helping to protect species that are increasingly under threat.

Giraffes, despite their global recognition, are facing silent extinction. Habitat loss, human encroachment, and environmental pressures continue to reduce their populations across Africa. Yet their story is often overlooked.

Through artworks like Lobo, we aim to change that.

Jacha’s artistic approach is rooted in a deep respect for the natural world. By capturing not just the physical beauty of these animals but also their presence and spirit, his work encourages a deeper emotional connection one that inspires awareness, empathy, and ultimately, action.

The Power of Storytelling Through Art

What makes this campaign truly special is its ability to tell stories that words alone cannot.

Every brushstroke, every composition, and every artistic choice contributes to a larger narrative one that speaks of beauty, fragility, and the urgent need for preservation. Art has a unique ability to cross boundaries, reaching people in ways that statistics and reports often cannot.

Through this collaboration, we have seen firsthand how creativity can unite people from different backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives around a shared cause.

A Meaningful Milestone for Jacha Art

Being selected to take part in this campaign marks an important chapter for Jacha.

It reflects not only the growth of our artistic journey but also our commitment to using art as a platform for awareness and positive impact. Collaborations like this allow us to contribute to something far greater than ourselves helping to amplify important messages through creativity.

We are incredibly grateful to Remembering Wildlife for the opportunity to be part of this initiative, and to the wider community of supporters who helped bring the campaign to

Looking Ahead

While the Kickstarter campaign has now come to an end, its impact continues.

The artworks created, the conversations sparked, and the awareness raised will carry forward, contributing to ongoing conservation efforts and inspiring future projects.

For us, this is just the beginning.

We remain committed to creating meaningful work, exploring new collaborations, and continuing to support initiatives that align with our values.

Stay connected with Jacha to follow our journey and be the first to discover upcoming collections, stories, and opportunities to be part of something truly meaningful. Written By Marco Moh
