Remembering Great Apes Book Launch

A night to remember at the book launch in London

As we shared in a earlier blog post, one of Jacha’s photos was chosen to be included in the Remembering Great Apes, released in October 2018.

On October 17th 2018, Jacha, his wife Gwyn and assistant Kate travelled to London to attend the private viewing of the exhibition of all the photographs in the book. The exhibition was held in La Galleria Pall Mall and ran from October 14th – 27th.  It was fantastic to be able to see all the photos on display in the gallery, they really did make an impact about ape conservation.

The following evening it was off to the Royal Geographical Society for the official launch of the Remembering Great Apes book, this was a fully packed evening hosted by Margot Raggett, creator of the Remembering Wildlife series. During the evening there were talks from conservationists Ian Redmond OBE, Ofir Drori, Julien Polet, Mwiga Mambo, Cheryl Knott and Tim Laman, an astonishing auction of magical lots and a chance for guests to buy a copy of the  book and get it signed by 35 of the 72 contributing photographers.

Both evenings were well organised and a big success, in just that one week Remembering Great Apes raised an incredible £100,000 for the Born Free Foundation which they will use to fund projects helping great apes across the world, this total grows each time a book or print is sold, so why not make a contribution and get your own copy of the book?
