Jacha and his team take on the challenge of climbing Africa's highest peak.
In October 2016 Jacha and Team Alpine climbed to the roof of Africa and summited the highest peak on the continent – all in the name of apes – what an unbelievable achievement!
Team Alpine was made up of Jacha, his wife Gwyn, Sue Jones (cook from Alpine Coffee Shop), Gerallt Evans (artist blacksmith of Tan Lan Metalworks), Bryony Buckley (a student of Jacha’s) Dilys Buckley (Bryony’s mum) Rachel Hogan (Director of Ape Action Africa) and Larry Taylor (Deputy Director of Ape Action Africa)
The team took 6 days to reach the summit with an exhausting 17 hour day on Summit Day. But the tiredness was worth it when they stood at the summit and found out they had raised an incredible £18,000 for Orangutan Appeal UK and Ape Action Africa!
