‘A Walk Through Life’ aims to bring awareness to the conservation of animals in a bright, fun and engaging way. It is semi-autobiographical, featuring hand-painted elements and textiles I have collected over years of global travel. These pieces keep the animals at the forefront, combined and placed in ways not usually seen in nature; to draw the eye across the whole piece - the series requires the viewer to spend a long time looking at the work to really appreciate all the finer details, all the while educating them on conservation. These works have been applied to cushion covers, tablecloths, coasters, wearable textile (for example, scarves and bandanas), and most notably to upholster furniture.
